Netball 2012 - 2013

Senior A

The final year for the Senior Netball began at the end of September with a touch of sadness that this would be the last year the girls would be playing together as a team. As always they entered the season with great enthusiasm and determination even though this year was demanding in terms of time and other commitments for many of the U6th players.

Our fixtures in the Senior A section of the Belfast League proved to be challenging against some of the top teams in the region such as Dominican College, whose coach had informed us where mainly U17 international players, and Methody, who we had defeated in previous years. Unfortunately, after some excellent performances and plenty of energy spent (who said this was an easy sport!) the girls were not to be victorious on this occasion.

Success, however, did come when Hannah Kee gained a place on the Belfast Development Squad after an excellent display of skills at the Belfast trials and as Captain of the Senior A team. Congratulations Hannah. My congratulations have to be extended to all of the girls for their unwavering commitment to the sport over the last seven years, as well as their loyalty to each other as a team. I have been honoured to be your coach over the last two years and wish you every success in your future.
