A Level Art Trip to the RUA Exhibition

On Tuesday 10th December Mrs Denvir-Watson and Miss McCormick brought the School’s AS and A2 Art students to the Ulster Museum to view the annual ‘Royal Ulster Academy’ exhibition.

This exhibition is open to all budding artists in Northern Ireland and includes artwork by amateur artists as well as successful professionals. Competition is high as there are over 1,000 entries for the coveted 200 places available.

Grosvenor has been represented at the event on many occasions with a number of our past pupils exhibiting their work. Mrs Denise McDowell, the School’s Receptionist, has also been successful in exhibiting her creative assemblage boxes on three previous occasions while another past pupil, Ian Cumberland, this year exhibited his dramatic portrait paintings.

Grosvenor’s pupils were given a tour of the exhibition by the Education Officer at the Ulster Museum and also took part in a practical workshop on the gallery floor.

The exhibition runs until January 5th 2014 and is well worth a visit.
