A2 Art Exhibition 2016
On the afternoon of Monday 13th June Grosvenor's Art Department celebrated the achievements of its AS and A2 Level students with the staging of its annual Art Exhibition for pupils, relatives and associates of the School.
The exhibition, organised by Head of Art Mrs Joanne Blair, celebrated the excellent artwork produced this year by the School’s AS and A2 Art students, who produced two projects during the year - coursework worth 60% and an externally set assignment, worth 40% of the final mark. The coursework element is an open project where students are allowed to select any theme of their choice while the exam project is a topic set by CCEA each year.
This year the themes were: AS - "Beauty” and A2 - "Proximity". There were a wide variety of responses to the themes set and parents thoroughly enjoyed viewing the work on display. The work included large scale fine art paintings, fashion work, textile wall hangings, installation work and sculpture.
We now look forward to the pupils’ achievements being recognized when the A Level examination results are published in August.
