Abaana New Life Choir @ GGS

On Wednesday 3rd April Grosvenor had the privilege of hosting the Abaana New Life Choir as they performed to in excess of one hundred and fifty audience members in the William Moles Hall.

Abaana is a Bangor-based charity working in Uganda to provide education, child sponsorship and support for children living on the streets in Kampala. Over the last twenty years Abaana has built schools all over Uganda and twenty children from these schools are currently touring the UK for around four months.

On the night the choir presented, through song, dance and video, the work of Abaana and provided all in attendance with an amazing night of music and entertainment. The vibrant colours of their clothes, the sound of the drums and the work of the charity was challenging and moving for all who attended.

Many thanks to Grosvenor’s Head of Religious Studies Mr Smith for organising and coordinating the Choir’s performance, as well as all connected to Abaana for delivering such an entertaining evening; we look forward to welcoming them back to the School again before long.
