Antrim Sixes 2018

Congratulations to Grosvenor’s Firsts and Seconds Girls hockey teams, each of which performed impressively at the annual Antrim Sixes event, held at Antrim Forum on the evening of Tuesday 29th May.

Against stiff opposition in the form of Randalstown, Owls, Castle, Parkview, Rainey sand South Antrim, both teams performed superbly to win their respective sections as well as their subsequent quarter-finals.

At the semi-final stage the Seconds were unfortunate to lose but the Firsts, following victory at the same stage, progressed to the final where they narrowly lost 1-0 to Rainey Endowed, despite dominating for long periods of the match.

Both teams were brilliant on the night and drew so many positive comments from the umpires and organisers alike – well done to each and every one of them, as well as their coach Mrs McIlvenny, whose dedication throughout the season has helped the players to reach such a high standard in their performances.
