Arnold Palmer Invitational Golf Competition

Congratulations to Grosvenor golfer Ross Nelson, Form Three, who was invited to attend the world famous Arnold Palmer Invitational Competition at Bay Hill, Orlando prior to Easter.

As reported earlier in the year, Ross’ involvement at the competition came following an invitation from event organiser and Club manager Brian Doohan.  While Ross had previously attended the event in 2008 and 2010 he was afforded a much more hands-on role at this year’s competition.

During his time off from working on the driving range and at the first tee Ross was afforded the opportunity to play the course itself, shooting an impressive 81 to win his fourball.  Ross also got the chance to meet a number of the star names who performed at the event, as evidenced by the photograph (see left) in which he is pictured with Ryder Cup stars Graeme McDowell and Ian Poulter.

Well done to Ross and maybe we will see him on the fairways and greens of some of the world’s most famous courses before long.
