Art Department 'Gifted and Talented' trip 2017

On Monday 18th June the top five students in years 8, 9 and 10 were given the opportunity to extend and develop their artistic skills outside of the classroom. Accompanied by Mrs Denvir-Watson and Mrs Blair, the pupils took part in an outdoor workshop in Orangefield Park, where they made mobiles based on the sculptural work of Alexander Calder.

The sculptures were made mostly from natural materials found in the park with a few beads from the art department to add a splash of colour.

Many thanks to Mrs Blair for organising the trip, as well as Mrs Denvir-Watson for her presence also; we look forward to many of these pupils progressing to produce more outstanding work at GCSE and A Level in years to come.

A number of junior pupils enjoy their 'Gifted and Talented' Art trip to Orangefield Park on Monday 18th June.
