Art Department Outdoor Activity Afternoons

On Monday 16th and 23rd June the top thirty Art pupils in Forms One and Two were rewarded for their achievements with participation in two ‘Outdoor Art Activity Afternoons’, designed to stretch their artistic skills in a new environment.

Form One were taken to Crawfordsburn beach on Monday 23rd June where they made sculptures out of found materials, inspired by the environmental artist Andy Goldsworthy.

Form Two, meanwhile, enjoyed an afternoon in Orangefield Park on 16th June, where they made ‘Dream Catcher Sculptures’ out of branches, leaves, flowers and found items.

Both groups rose to the challenge and, as expected, pushed their creativity to produce a range of innovative and exciting results.

Many thanks to the School’s Art Department, led by Mrs Joanne Blair, for their organization and planning of these events.
