AS English Literature Lectures at Q.U.B.

On Wednesday 27th February and Wednesday 6th March a number of the School’s AS English Literature students had their first taste of university life when they attended a set of invaluable lectures at Queen’s University.

The University’s Schools’ Programme has this year devised a series of English Literature lectures in line with the AS and A2 syllabi in order to widen pupils’ perspective on texts such as ‘The Great Gatsby’, ‘King Lear’ and selected poetry.

Dr Gail McConnell, Dr Philip McGowan and Dr Andrew Pepper delivered three entertaining and informative lectures over the two afternoons which, undoubtedly, will benefit the pupils as they approach their exams in May and June.

Many thanks to Q.U.B. for running these informative set of lectures, as well as Mrs Young, Miss Hyndman and Mr Kernohan who accompanied the pupils during the visits.
