Belfast Future Internationals selection

Congratulations to Grosvenor pupils Katie Russell and Emily Young, both year Eleven, each of whom were recently selected for the Under 15 ‘Belfast Future Internationals’ netball squad following a rigorous selection process.

In addition congratulations is also extended to Emma Kee, Year Ten, who has been chosen as a reserve for the squad despite being a year younger than the majority of its members.

The girls were selected to this prestigious squad following trials, held at Ashfield Girls’ High School, in November, following which a total of 98 hopefuls were whittled down to 24 final selectees.

Katie and Emily will now attend monthly training sessions with the squad, also at Ashfield Girls’, before the season culminates with a series of matches against other regions from across the province in March.

Well done to Katie, Emily and Emma on their success, along with their dedicated coaches Mrs Kirk and Mrs Lavery: we wish them the best of luck throughout the remainder of the season, both with the ‘Future Internationals’ squad as well as in their matches representing Grosvenor.
