Belfast YMCA ‘Youth in Government’ Scheme

Congratulations to Grosvenor pupils Sophie Moore and Tori Farr, both Upper Sixth, who were recently selected as participants in the highly prestigious ‘Youth in Government’ scheme, run by Belfast YMCA.

This year’s ‘Youth in Government’ initiative is already well under way, with twenty one young people meeting weekly to learn about a wide range of issues.  The project, now in its seventeenth year, brings together young people from diverse backgrounds to learn about and experience, at first-hand, how politics works both locally and nationally.  Sophie and Tori’s involvement in the scheme will see them receive the opportunity, amongst other things, to visit and meet with political representatives from the Stormont Assembly, the Dáil Éireann in Dublin as well as The Palace of Westminster in London.

Well done to Sophie and Tori on securing their places as part of such a rich and meaningful educational experience and we wish them the best of luck in their work within the project over the coming months, as well as in their future educational and careers-related endeavours.
