Ben Watson - Ulster Under 13 squash selection

Congratulations to Grosvenor pupil Ben Watson, Year Nine, who performed with distinction at the recent Junior Squash Ulster Closed tournament, held at Belfast Boat Club over the weekend of Saturday 19th and Sunday 20th January.

Over the two days Ben competed in the Under 13 boys event, where he was unlucky to draw the No1 Ulster and Irish seed, Yuv Pahuja, in his group but gained valuable match experience. Despite losing this match, he proceeded to win all of his other matches, finishing an impressive third overall.  This, plus his good performance in the Ulster Open last year, has led to his re-selection onto the Ulster Under 13 Boys team.

There will now follow a period of intense training at Lisburn Racquets Club before the team embarks on its first tournament - the Junior Interpros - to be held in Waterford on the weeknd of 9th and 10th March; all at Grosvenor congratulate Ben on his selection for the Ulster squad and wish him the best of luck as he prepares for the interpros themselves – we look forward to reporting on Ben’s progress at this event a little later in the year.

Grosvenor pupil Ben Watson, Year Nine, receives his third place trophy from Mark McGugan, Tournament Director, following the Junior Squash Ulster Closed tournament, held towards the end of January at Belfast Boat Club.
