Biology Department excursions to Belfast Zoo

On Tuesday 16th and Friday 19th June Grosvenor’s Form Three students made the journey to Belfast Zoo in a set of visits organised by the School’s Biology Department.

During the excursions each group received a talk from the Zoo’s Education Officer and was allowed to touch a stick insect, a hedgehog, a snake and a giant African land snail, as well as observing a tarantula at close quarters!

Many thanks to all at Belfast Zoo who helped to make both days so informative and enjoyable, as well as to all members of the Biology Department whose organization of the trips made them possible; the experience provide highly memorable for those pupils in attendance and will no doubt help them as they embark on their GCSE studies in September.
