Boys’ Hockey - Under 15 Talent Development Programme

Congratulations to Grosvenor hockey players Andrew Hagen, Matthew Vincent and Conor Morrison, each of whom were recently selected onto the prestigious Ulster Under 15 Talent Development Programme.

The selection of Andrew and Matthew, both Form Three, and Conor, Form Two, comes after each were nominated for the initiative by Grosvenor’s Teacher in Charge of Hockey, Mr Young, and subsequently invited to undertake a talent assessment at The Pavilion, Stormont, from which those players deemed to posses the greatest talent were offered a place on the Development Programme.

As members of the scheme, which features sixty players in total and is directed and managed by the High Performance Manager of Ulster Hockey, the boys are required to attend weekly sessions at Stormont, which run every Sunday from 10am-12pm from October to March. During these sessions the Head Coach of their respective group will aim to identify talent for continuing investment beyond the conclusion of the programme.

Well done to Andrew, Mathew and Conor on their selection to such an elite project, as well as Grosvenor coaches Mr Young and Mr Brittain, without whose own dedication and commitment the boys would not have developed so much already during their time at the school.

We wish Grosvenor’s talented triumvirate the best of luck throughout the programme and look forward to them putting their skills to good use whilst representing the School throughout the season.
