Brian McLaughlin Coaching Session

On the afternoon of Wednesday 7th November Grosvenor welcomed former Ulster Rugby Coach Brian McLaughlin to the School to conduct a training session with its 1st and 2nd XV squads.

Mr McLaughlin, who led Ulster for three seasons from 2009 – 2012 having previously worked as a skills coach within the Ireland set up and as 1st XV coach at R.B.A.I., visited the school as part of his current role with the Ulster Academy, where he works to develop young talent within the province.

MR McLaughlin, who famously guided Ulster to the final of the Heineken Cup at the end of last season, put the School’s senior players through their paces during a rigorous session, observed by coaches Mr McCallan, Mr Hunter and Mr White.

Many thanks to Mr McLaughlin for taking the time to deliver this most worthwhile session, as well as Ulster Rugby for making such an opportunity available.   The pupils involved were extremely positive in their assessment of the afternoon and delighted to have the chance to work with and learn from such a renowned coach.

Grosvenor looks forward to welcoming Mr McLaughlin back to the school again in the near future.
