Castlereagh Borough Council Sporting Achievement Award

Congratulations to Grosvenor pupil Jonathan Little whose fencing achievements were recognised by Castlereagh Borough Council at a ceremony held on the evening of Wednesday 26th June.

The event saw Jonathan, form two, presented with a Sporting Achievement Award by Todd Kelman, General Manager of the Belfast Giants, as well as Councillor David Drysdale, Lord Mayor of Castlereagh, in recognition of his impressive achievements over the past twelve months. In addition Grosvenor itself was heavily praised for its sustained success in the sporting arena.

The past year has seen Jonathan win gold in the Under 12 boys’ foil category at the British Youth Fencing Championships, held at Sheffield Sports Arena, while April of this year saw him announced as Northern Ireland Boys’ Under 16 Foil Champion, based on results throughout a number events held as part of the Northern Ireland Junior Series 2012/2013.

Well done to Jonathan on his continued success and we look forward to celebrating further success from him over the coming year.
