CCEA Summer 2014 ‘Top Achievers’ Success

Congratulations to a number of Grosvenor pupils who were recently announced by CCEA as having placed within the top three candidates in Northern Ireland in selected subjects at GCSE and GCE (A-level) during the summer 2014 public examinations.

At A-level Ross Neill was placed first in Northern Ireland in Economics, under the tutelage of Mrs Deirdre McLaughlin, as well as second in Politics with the help of his teacher Mr Ronnie Elliott, while in German Jack Walker was placed first in Northern Ireland under the guidance of Head of German Mrs Fiona Dorman.

At GCSE Level, meanwhile, Ryan Simpson, taught by Mrs Ruth Rankin, was placed joint first in Additional Mathematics as well as second in German, with guidance from his teacher Miss Andrea Elwood.  So too David Campbell achieved joint second place in Additional Mathematics, with instruction from his teacher Mr Derek Moore.

Well done to all four of Grosvenor’s elite performers from last summer’s public exams; we wish the best of luck to Ryan and David in their current AS Level studies, as well as to Ross and Jack as they embark on their University careers - at Christ’s College, Cambridge, to study Law, and at the University of Bath to undertake Modern Languages - respectively.
