CCEA Summer 2015 'Top Achievers' Success

Congratulations to a number of Grosvenor pupils who were recently announced by CCEA as having placed within the top three candidates in Northern Ireland in selected subjects at GCSE and GCE (A Level) during the summer 2015 public examinations.

At ‘A’ Level David Thompson was placed first in Mathematics as well as third in Further Mathematics under the combined tutelage of Ms. Victoria Seaton, Miss Helen Lavery, Mrs Sharon Erwin and Dr. Sam Stevenson, while Matthew Carson was placed third in Spanish, under the guidance of Mrs Amanda Salt.

At GCSE Level, meanwhile, Claire Sullivan, taught by Mr Andrew White, was placed first in Learning for Life and Work while Ethan Kee achieved second place in Physics, under the direction of Mrs Fiona Watt, and Michael Culbert also attained second place, this time in Biology, with the help of his teacher Mrs Janet Auld.

Well done to all five of Grosvenor’s elite performers from last summer’s public examinations; we wish the best of luck to Claire, now in form five, as she continues her G.C.S.E. studies, Ethan and Michael in their current AS Level endeavours, as well as to David and Matthew as they embark on their University careers - at Corpus Christi College, Cambridge, to undertake Natural Sciences, and at Queen’s University to study Common and Civil Law - respectively.

Matthew Carson (back row, second from left) was placed third in Northern Ireland in 'A' Level Spanish under the tutelage of Mrs Amanda Salt (back row, far left); Ethan Kee (back row, third from right) placed second in GCSE Physics under the guidance of Mrs Fiona Watt (back row, third from left) while Claire Sullivan (back row, second from right) attained first place in GCSE L.L.W., with the help of her teacher Mr. Andrew White (back row, far right) in this year's CCEA summer examinations.
