Cricket: Wesley Ferris Cup semi-final

Congratulations to Grosvenor’s Under 12 cricket team which secured its place in the final of the Wesley Ferris Cup following victory away to Lurgan Junior High School on Monday 12th June.

Grosvenor, bowling first, restricted the opposition to 93 all out off 19.4 overs, with bowlers Mohammad Aahil, Joel Dickie and Jonathan Lawrie picking up two wickets apiece.

Chasing 94 for victory GGS recovered from the early loss of opener Aahil as Noah Kelly and Daniel Corbett steadied the ship before the former fell for 25. Despite the loss of two further wickets, however, Corbett (32 not out) alongside number six batsman Dickie (10 not out) batted with sufficient responsibility to see their side over the line.

The venue for the final of the competition, as well as the identity of the opposition, is yet to be decided, but it goes without saying that all at Grosvenor wish its Year Eight boys, along with their coaches Mr White and Mr Young, the best of luck for this much-anticipated encounter.
