Duke of Edinburgh Award Ceremony at UUJ

Congratulations to a number of Grosvenor pupils who were awarded their Silver Duke of Edinburgh Awards at The University of Ulster Jordanstown on Thursday 4th October.  On the evening in question a number of pupils from the School’s 6th Form, as well as some from last year’s Upper 6th, received their award, having completed the gruelling Silver Award process over the past twelve months.

The Silver Duke of Edinburgh’s Award involves four aspects:  Physical, Skill, Service and a three day expedition, usually to the Mourne Mountains.  In total the process takes around one year to compete but with many pupils continuing to sign up to participate in the Gold Award, it appears that few of the Silver Award recipients have been put off by their experiences!

We look forward to reading of more Gold, Silver and Bronze Award winners in the near future.
