'Eat up for the Ulstermen' Fundraiser Event

On Monday 24th November Grosvenor’s rugby club welcomed over one hundred pupils, parents and associates of the school to ‘Makhulu 5’, a South African themed restaurant in Bangor, where those in attendance were afforded the opportunity to feast on South African braai-style food such as ribs, wings, vors (sausage) and pulled pork, and meet with Ulster rugby’s six South African representatives, namely; Ruan Pienaar, Rob Herring, Franco Dan der Merwe, Louis Ludek, Robbie Diack and Wiann Herbst.

The event saw each of the six Ulster players answer questions from Grosvenor’s own Mr Andrew Gibson, compere for the evening, as well as selected parents and representatives from within the audience.  The evening, organized superbly by Mr Gibson, helped to raise funds for the much anticipated rugby and hockey tour to South Africa which is due to take place in the summer of 2016.

Many thanks to Mr Gibson for his diligent planning and careful organization of the event, which helped to make it such an overwhelming success, and we look forward to attending various further fundraisers which are due to take place between now and July 2016.
