‘Edgar Graham Memorial Public Speaking Competition’ 2017

Congratulations to Grosvenor pupil Lauren McMullan, Year Thirteen, who was placed fourth and ‘Highly Commended’ for her performance at the prestigious ‘Edgar Graham Memorial Public Speaking Competition’, held in the Senate Chamber at Stormont Buildings on the evening of Wednesday 22nd February.

Lauren’s chosen topic on the evening was ‘This is My Body’, while fellow GGS pupil Rowan Adair, who also competed, spoke on the issue of ‘Sensationalism’.

The event, organised by the ‘Ulster Womens’ Unionist Council’ and featuring a total of 23 participants from 14 different schools, was adjudicated by Mrs Catherine Gardener, who spoke positively about both of Grosvenor’s participants on the night.

Well done to Lauren and Rowan for their efforts on the evening, as well as GGS teacher Mrs Lander who worked hard to prepare them for the event, and well as accompanying them on the night.

We now look forward to reading of further Public Speaking-related success from our pupils over the remainder of the year.
