I.F.A. Girls’ Football Regional Excellence Squad

Congratulations to Grosvenor pupil Megan Bell, Form Three, who has been selected as a member of the IFA’s elite Girls’ Football Regional Excellence squad.

Megan’s selection for this exclusive squad comes following her participation in the County Excellence programme as well as successful participation at the recent Northern Ireland Elite squad weekly trials.

Over the coming eight weeks Megan will compete against a number of male teams in the National Youth League as she prepares for her hoped-for participation at the prestigious Bob Docherty Under 15 tournament, due to be held in Scotland in April 2015, where Northern Ireland will compete against Wales, the Republic of Ireland and Slovakia.

Despite being the youngest member of the current Excellence squad, Megan will be aiming to make the cut from the current squad of twenty-six pupils to the final selection of sixteen players to compete in next year’s event.

Well done to Megan on her achievement in making the Regional Excellence squad and all at the School wish her the best of luck in her quest of securing her participation at next April’s Bob Docherty Tournament.
