Form 4 Drama - Devised Performances

On the afternoon of Wednesday 1st May Grosvenor’s Form 4 Drama students performed two thought-provoking and mature performances for invited guests in accordance with the requirements of their GCSE Specification.

The pupils were responsible for creating, developing, directing and performing original pieces on the theme of conflict.  Parent and friends watched two thirty minute productions, the first, entitled 'Ever Where We Go’, focusing on Northern Ireland and the 1960s Civil Rights Movement, and black comedy ‘The Doll’ inspired by a child's unhealthy relationship with her toy.

Both pieces incorporated external research ranging from political awareness of Northern Ireland's troubled history to choreography. Each piece met with an enthusiastic response from those in attendance who were impressed by the skill with which the performances had been planned and were executed.

Well done to everybody who performed so well on the day, as well as Director Mrs Orla Young without whose time and effort the performances would never have come to fruition.
