Form One Hockey Tournament

Grosvenor played host to some of the province’s elite young hockey players when the school staged its annual Form One Hockey Tournament at the end of February.

The event, held on Tuesday 26th and Wednesday 27th February, saw teams from twenty schools compete in total, with an extremely high standard of play in evidence throughout the two days.

Grosvenor’s own team was unfortunate not to qualify from their group following three draws and a loss against Wellington College, Sullivan Upper, Ballyclare High School and Wallace High School.

Despite this disappointment the tournament was still a resounding success, with Wellington College and Wallace High School achieving respective victories over Sullivan Upper and Ballyclare High School in the semi-finals before Wallace prevailed by a narrow 1-0 margin in the final.

Well done to Grosvenor’s female P.E. department which organised the event so well, as well as a number of its GCSE P.E. students who assisted with its running.

We look forward to following the fortunes of Grosvenor’s Under 12 Hockey team as it competes in a number of other competitions over the coming weeks.
