Form One Residentials

Between Monday 10th and Friday 28th September 2012 Grosvenor’s Form One intake of 160 pupils, comprising 6 Form classes, made the short trip to ‘Delamont Outdoor Education Centre’ where they were afforded the opportunity to participate in a wide range of outdoor activities.

During each three day excursion Form classes and their accompanying teachers were involved in such demanding activities as bouldering, canoeing, wall-climbing and archery, whilst the evenings were spent participating at the playpark, nighline or around the camp fire.

‘Delamont Outdoor Education Centre’, operated by the Belfast Education and Library Board, is situated within Delamont Country Park near Killyleagh and offers a range of courses to meet the needs of pupils within the BELB area.

Residentials have proven an important step in the integration of Form One pupils into Grosvenor for a number of years, and remain amongst pupils’ most memorable experiences of their time at the School.

All at Grosvenor would like to thank those staff members from ‘Delamont Outdoor Education Centre’ who helped to make its series of Form One Residentials so successful over recent weeks.
