French Film Day

On Tuesday 5th March Mr Brittain and Miss Lunny accompanied 15 French A2 students to a showing of ‘Manon des Sources’, the French film that they are currently studying for their A2 oral exam.

Pupils must be able to talk at length and in depth about this film with an external examiner and it was therefore very useful to have the film introduced and discussed by Dr Peter Tame, Lecturer in French from Queen’s University Belfast.

After the showing of the film Dr Tame ran a workshop during which he dealt with various themes within the film.  The introduction, the showing of the film and indeed the workshop were all conducted through French and it was very gratifying for our students that they were easily capable of understanding everything that was said.

The event was organised by NICILT and our thanks go to its staff for delivering such a worthwhile and enjoyable day.
