GCSE LLW Presentation

On Tuesday 29th November Grosvenor’s Learning for Life and Work department welcomed former pupil Gareth Reid to Lecture/Dance where he spoke to all of Year Eleven regarding his development of an app. entitled ‘Write to Read’, which aims to provide assistance for dyslexic students.

Gareth spoke about his app., which is relevant to the LLW  ‘Employability’ Controlled Assessment component, the title for which this year is “Investigating developing ICT skills to meet changing needs regarding the design of apps.”

Gareth - a member of last year’s Upper Sixth - provided a superb insight into how to go about designing an app. and then developing it for sale on the global market. All of the pupils present will now use the information from Gareth’s presentation to complete their coursework in LLW.

Many thanks to Gareth for taking the time to speak to our Year Eleven pupils, as well as Head of LLW Mrs Kirk who continues to lead the department with enthusiasm and expertise: we look forward to seeing her, and the pupils’, efforts transfer into impressive GCSE grades upon the publication of results next August.
