GCSE Music Seminar and Open Rehearsal

On the morning of Wednesday 17th October a number of the School’s Music students in Forms 4 and 5 made the short journey to Belfast’s Ulster Hall to attend a GCSE Music Seminar as well as an Open Rehearsal by the Ulster Orchestra.

The event saw the pupils, accompanied by Head of Music Miss Rosemary Foster, attend an Education Seminar featuring an informative analysis of the GCSE set work “The Planets” by Holst.  This was then followed by a rehearsal performance of the same piece by the Ulster Orchestra for the Opening Concert of the Queen’s Music Festival 2012, which took place at the Waterfront Hall on the evening of Friday 19th October.

Many thanks to Miss Foster for organizing this worthwhile trip and we hope that the event proved highly beneficial for the many Grosvenor pupils in attendance.
