German Department – Trinity College Dublin Information Sessions

On Friday 14th February Grosvenor’s German department welcomed Dr Gillian Martin, from the Department of Germanic Studies, Trinity College Dublin to speak with a number of its GCSE and AS students.

Dr Martin held two information sessions, one with Form Five and another with Lower 6th pupils. In the first session, with all pupils currently studying German in fifth form, she provided an overview of the courses available with German at Trinity and of what student life there is like. Most importantly, she provided information on the various career paths that German graduates have followed after completion of a degree with German, and was able to provide an insight into some current employment trends for language graduates.

When Dr Martin then spoke with the smaller Lower 6th group she provided more detail on the various course combinations available and on the application procedure for TCD.

Many thanks to Dr Martin for making the journey to come and speak to the School’s pupils – it was much appreciated and definitely provided some useful information and insight for those in attendance.
