GGS String Quartet @ Eastside Awards 2018

Congratulations to Grosvenor’s esteemed String Quintet, comprising pupils Sarah Myles, Anna Stanfield, Lucy Hamilton, Tyler Smyth and Karl Kirkpatrick, which was recently invited to perform at the prestigious Eastside Awards, held at Hastings Stormont Hotel on the evening of Thursday 25th January.

The second Eastside Awards, in association with George Best Belfast City Airport, were hosted by BBC presenter Tara Mills and provided an opportunity to celebrate the best that East Belfast has to offer, in categories ranging from Best Food Destination to Top Retailer; Employer of the Year to Volunteer of the Year.

As always the GGS String Quintet, accompanied to the event by Head of Music Miss Rosemary Foster, did the School proud with an assured and entertaining performance prior to the main ceremony itself.

Well done to all five members of the quintet and we look forward to hearing them in performance at first hand at the upcoming Spring Concert on Wednesday 21st March.
