Girls' rugby - Schools' Cup qualifying round
Congratulations to Grosvenor’s girls’ rugby team which successfully secured qualification for the quarter final of the Schools’ Cup following a keenly contested qualifying round, held at the Valley Leisure Centre on Wednesday 1st March.
The qualifying round saw Grosvenor enter two teams – an ‘A’ team, captained by Bethany McDowell, and a ‘B’ team captained by Emma McDowell, while GGS Head Girl Annie McKirgan was top try scorer on the day.
Following a series of highly competitive matches Grosvenor successfully negotiated this stage of the competition to achieve qualification for the quarter final round of the cup, which will be played next Thursday (16th March) - again at the Valley Leisure Centre - and where the School will enter just one team in order to make themselves as competitive as possible.
Well done to all of the girls who performed so well on the day, as well as their coach Mrs Kirk; we now wish them the best of luck as they prepare for next week’s quarter final.
