Habitat for Humanity – GGS @ OLSPC

On Thursday 3rd December ten of Grosvenor’s Lower Sixth pupils participated in the final stage of its 'Habitat for Humanity'-related partnership with ‘Our Lady and St. Patrick’s College, Knock’, when they visited their partner school for a range of valuable activities and workshops.

With the OLSPC pupils having visited Grosvenor just two weeks earlier, and pupils from both schools having attended a ‘Site Day’ in Lisburn where all twenty pupils worked to sand and paint a number of restoration rooms the following week, the final leg of the project came when Grosvenor’s pupils made the short journey to Knock to conclude the programme.

On the day pupils from both schools completed a range of activities, focusing on issues such such as poverty and stereotyping, as well as evaluating what they had learned and gained from their involvement in the initiative.

Many thanks to Grosvenor teacher Mrs Browne who has coordinated the school’s involvement in this programme this year, Head of Lower Sixth Mrs Peel who accompanied Grosvenor’s delegation of pupils to their partner school last week, as well as all representatives from ‘Our Lady and St. Patrick’s College’ and 'Habitat for Humanity' itself who have helped to make the partnership such a success

We look forward to hearing of much more involvement between GGS and OLSPC over the coming months.
