Habitat for Humanity 'Site Day' 2017

On Friday 10th November twenty pupils from Grosvenor and ‘Our Lady and St. Patrick’s College’ spent a day volunteering at ‘The Welcome Organisation’ in Belfast as part of their ongoing collaboration in aid of ‘Habitat for Humanity’.

Every year ‘The Welcome Organisation’ assists around 1300 individuals in making their journey out of homelessness and works with the most vulnerable members of society. Its clients exhibit a range of mental health issues, substance abuse and alcoholism.

The participating pupils were involved in a number of projects throughout the day to help the charity prepare its new shop, where upcycled pieces of furniture and crafts will be sold.

This highly worthwhile site day’ will be followed by the staging of a number of fundraising initiatives over the coming months, designed to raise as much money as possible for 'Habitat for Humanity'.

Many thanks to GGS teacher Mrs Browne for co-ordinating the School’s participation within this initiative and we look forward to hearing more about the pupils' progress over the remainder of the year.
