Highland Dancing Achievements

Congratulations to talented Grosvenor pupil Alice Greeves, Upper 6th, who has excelled at a number of Highland Dancing competitions and events over recent months.

Alice, who dances for the ‘Bright Lights School of Highland Dance’, recently enjoyed success in the Over 16 (Adult) pre-Championship section at the ‘European Highland Dance Championships’, staged in May, and which this year came to Londonderry as part of its ‘City of Culture’ celebrations; here she achieved first place in both the Highland and National sections – the first time that either category has been won by a competitor from Northern Ireland.

In addition Alice also competed more recently at the ‘Ulster Confined Championships’, contesting the event for the first time at adult level, where she was placed 3rd overall.

Since then Alice has taken part in a further number of dancing events, including entertaining guests at the ‘Indian Business Conference’ in the Titanic Building in June and being part of the opening ceremony of the ‘World Police and Fire Games’ at Balmoral in August.

Well done to Alice on her recent achievements and endeavours and we wish her the best of luck with her future Highland Dancing career.
