Junior Choir 'Children in Need' 2012

Congratulations to Grosvenor’s Junior Choir which performed so impressively as part of the BBC’s annual ‘Children In Need’ broadcast on the evening of Friday 16th November.

The event saw Grosvenor’s choristers in Forms 1 – 3, accompanied by Head of Music Miss Rosemary Foster as well as Music teacher Mr Jonathan Arnold, perform a memorable rendition of Simon and Garfunkel’s ‘Bridge Over troubled Water’ along with the choirs of Lagan College and Lumen Christi College at the BBC’s Blackstaff Studios in Belfast.  The performance, which was broadcast shortly after 8.30pm, saw the three choirs from Northern Ireland link up with many others from throughout the UK in what proved one of the highlights of a most entertaining evening.

In addition the following evening saw the Choir’s preparations for this event broadcast as part of BBC1s ‘Children in Need Northern Ireland’ programme, which followed local singer – songwriter Brian Kennedy as he visited the School and spoke to its pupils about their feelings and emotions prior to their big night.

Well done once again to Grosvenor’s talented vocalists, as well as their teachers, who represented the School with pride and helped to raise so much money for a range of worthy causes on the evening in question.

We look forward to hearing more from the School’s Choristers and fellow Musicians at other events throughout the year.
