Kids' Literature Quiz

On the afternoon of Thursday 14th November Wellington College Belfast played host to the eighth regional heat of the Northern Ireland Kids’ Literature Quiz 2013 (KLQ).  The Quiz is an annual literature competition for pupils aged ten to thirteen with pupils from across the province participating and the winners being put forward to the national and international finals.

The event represents a major celebration of books and reading imported to the U.K. from New Zealand by Wayne Mills, which offers irresistible reading challenges and broadens awareness.

This year Grosvenor entered the competition for the very first time, holding a number of  lively practice quizzes in the Library during the weeks prior to the event.

Congratulations to the School's team comprising Erin Devlin, Sarah McAleese, Jake Kyle and Robert Orr who battled valiantly to be placed a very respectable 9th out of 26 teams in total.  The Grosvenor supporters team also came away with a number of spot prizes including ‘Best School Mascot’ and ‘Best Dressed Book Character’. This year’s contest winner was Killicomaine Junior High.

A fun afternoon was had by all, and pupils are already asking to sign up for the 2014 Quiz!
