Lord Lieutenant’s Cadet appointment

Congratulations to Grosvenor pupil David Spratt, Lower Sixth, who recently received the prestigious honour of being awarded the position of Lord Lieutenant’s Cadet for the city of Belfast.

David, who has been a member of the Ballygowan Cadets since the age of twelve, received this award at Hillsborough Castle on Saturday 19th March and will now hold it until April 2017.

David was in London on 17th March parading with the Irish Guards while, as part of his responsibilities over the coming year, he will be expected to attend official engagements alongside the Lord Lieutenant. In addition, Thursday 21st April also David light the beacon for the Queen’s ninetieth birthday at the summit of the Mourne Mountains.

As well as his prestigious recent appointment as Lord Lieutenant’s Cadet, David has also achieved a BTEC Level Two in Public Service through the Cadets.

Well done to David on all of his recent achievements and we now wish him the best of luck as he carries out his resulting responsibilities over the coming twelve months.
