Lower 6th Home Economics Visit to CAFRE

On Wednesday 6th March Grosvenor’s Sixth Form Home Economics students, accompanied by Miss Johnstone, made the journey to Loughry College near Cookstown, the home of Northern Ireland’s College of Agriculture, Food and Rural Enterprise.

Throughout the day the students undertook a number of activities aimed towards them achieving their Level 2 Nutritional Awareness Course.  The itinerary included a lecture from 10.30am – 12.30pm followed by a 30 minute exam after lunch.  During the lecture students learnt about essential nutrients, their importance during different stages of the life cycle, and diet-related illnesses.

Well done to all of the pupils who completed the course on the day as well as Miss Johnstone, whose attendance made the entire trip possible.
