Lower Sixth Geography trip to Magilligan Field Centre

On Tuesday 17th and Wednesday 18th November Grosvenor’s Geography department embarked on its annual trip to Magilligan Field Centre where the pupils present completed field work required in preparation for their AS examination.

A total of nineteen Lower 6th pupils, led by teachers Mrs Rea and Mr Young, made the lengthy journey to Magilligan, where they spent their mornings conducting fieldwork preparation before collecting results in the afternoon at Umbra Nature Reserve, where they undertook a sand dune study.

The fieldwork was carried out enthusiastically by all of the pupils, who worked well in very difficult cold, wet conditions, and will have given each of them the best possible opportunity for success come their AS exam in June.

Many thanks to Mrs Rea and Mr Young and for organizing and supervising the trip, which proved so worthwhile for all in attendance.

Some of Grosvenor's AS Geographers make light of the wet conditions during their visit to Magilligan Field Centre in November.
