Medallion Bowl Victory

Congratulations to Grosvenor’s Medallion rugby XV which secured victory over Royal School Armagh in the quarter final of the Medallion Bowl on Saturday 2nd February.  The match saw Grosvenor’s players perform heroically throughout to secure a hard fought but well deserved victory by 17 points to 11.

The team’s opening try came when winger Stewart McClune touched down to finish a well worked sequence of play, with the forward pack carrying well to create the necessary overlap.  Following this tries from Mark Johnston and Steven Ross, the latter of whom scored from a charge down following pressure on the opposition line, as well as a conversion from Jonah McDowell, helped the team over the line thanks in part to a twenty minute period of stoic defensive play in the second half.

Well done to Grosvenor’s players and coaches on their impressive victory and they now await with anticipation the draw for the semi final of the competition.
