Millenium Volunteer Gold Awards

Congratulations to Grosvenor pupils Samuel Brown, Christina Cousins and Alexandria McClune who were each awarded with prestigious ‘Millenium Volunteer Gold’ certificates at a ceremony held at Londonderry’s Guild Hall on the evening of Thursday 5th December.

The certificates recognized the two hundred hours or more of volunteer work that the pupils, all Upper 6th, have committed over the past year.  Samuel served as a Games Ambassador for this summer’s ‘World Police and Fire Games’ as well as volunteering in the Waakisa Charity shop each Saturday morning.  So too Christina has been volunteering at Dunlady House Nursing Home in Dundonald as well as at the Marie Curie Centre and her local Girls’ Brigade once a week, the latter of which also saw her participate in a seventeen day mission trip over the summer.  Finally Alexandria has worked on an elective basis at her local Cancer Focus Shop as well as at Ravara Productions, an Amatuer Dramatic Group based in North Down.

Well done to all three of Grosvenor’s pupils on this outstanding achievement which deservedly recognizes the immense amount of time that they have given over to helping others during the past twelve months.
