National Dwarf Games 2018

Congratulations to Grosvenor Year Eight pupil Jonathan McLaughlin, who recently enjoyed success whilst representing Northern Ireland at the prestigious ‘National Dwarf Games’, held in Walsall, England, from Friday 4th to Monday 7th May.

Representing his country against fellow competitors from the likes of England, Australia, Denmark, New Zealand, Russia, Ghana, India and Poland, Jonathan competed in a variety of sports across the four day itinerary, securing gold medals in outdoor cycling, the 4 x 60 metre mixed relay and five-a-side hockey, silver in the javelin, shot and 40 metre sprint, as well as bronze in basketball and the 60 metre sprint.

Jonathan’s level of success is incredible given the sheer number of competitors, from all four corners of the globe, that participated in this elite competition – all at Grosvenor are incredibly proud of his achievements and we look forward to, hopefully, reporting on many more of his successes in the near future.

Year Eight pupil Jonathan McLaughlin proudly displays his impressive medal haul following the recent 'National Dwarf Games', held in Walsall in May.
