Netball - Belfast League Final 2016

Commiserations to Grosvenor’s Junior 'A' netball team which was unfortunate to lose out to an outstanding Rathmore Grammar side in the Belfast League Final, held at Lisburn Racquets Club on Wednesday 20th January.

Despite being on the wrong end of a final score-line of 17-5, each member of the Grosvenor team can take encouragement from their performance on the day, with a highly commendable team performance ensuring that Rathmore were forced to work extremely hard for their victory.

Amongst the girls Rihanna Buick (Wing Attack) and Karoline Chabowska (Centre) upped their game and made some lovely interceptions, while captain Katie Russell (Goal Attack) was ever-present in attack, with Emma Kee (Goal Defence) also working tirelessly in defence.

Well done to each and every member of the squad, namely: Hollie McGown, Emma Kee, Fiona Kelly, Karoline Chabowska, Rihanna Buick, Katie Russell, Emily Young and Ruth Seller, on their performances not only in the final but throughout the competition itself. So too a huge debt of gratitude is owed to coach Mrs Karen Kirk, without whose dedication and expertise the girls would not have flourished so much this season.

Well done to the girls on their achievement this season and hopefully they may even go one better next year!
