Netball – Belfast League Finals

Congratulations to Grosvenor’s Form One ‘A’ and ‘B’ netball teams who were each narrowly defeated in their respective finals of the Belfast League, held on Wednesday 7th May.

Having qualified for the final following victories in all three of their group matches, the ‘A’ team were unfortunate to lose narrowly, by 15 points to 11, against a talented team from Rathmore Grammar School.  Having started the match slowly the girls finally began to play to their potential in the final quarter, but unfortunately this came too late to overturn the deficit which had been established in the opening three quarters of the encounter.

In the ‘B’ section, meanwhile, Grosvenor’s team, which again had won all of its group matches prior to the final, lost in the most excruciating of fashions, falling 6-5 to St. Genevieve’s High School in the closest of encounters.

Well done to both teams, as well as their coach Mrs Karen Kirk, on reaching the final and let’s hope they can go one step further next year!
