Netball: Under 15 Belfast area Regional Development Squad

Congratulations to Grosvenor netballers Hannah James and Lisa Purdy, both Form Four, who recently enjoyed the notable distinction of attaining selection to the Under 15 Belfast Regional Development Squad.

Selection for Hannah, who plays goal defence, and Lisa, who occupies the position of centre, came following a long and demanding trial conducted at Belfast Royal Academy earlier in the year. Following their successful selection the girls have since been training each Thursday evening, from 6-8pm, as Lisburn Racquets Club, along with the other members of their squad, in preparation for a province-wide competition in May which will see the Belfast RDS compete against those from all other regions within Northern Ireland.

To gain selection to this elite squad is an outstanding achievement for both Hannah and Lisa, and merely reflects the standard that they have now reached in their netball. Both girls wish to express their thanks to their coaches, Miss Helen Lavery and Mrs Karen Kirk, without whose input they would not have been able to improve as they have done so over the past two years.

Well done to Hannah and Lisa on their superb achievement and we wish them the best of luck at their end-of-year tournament in May.
