Netball - Under 17 Development Squad selection
Congratulations to Grosvenor pupils Katie Russell and Emma Kee, both Year Twelve, who were recently selected onto the Northern Ireland Under 17 Netball Development Squad following a series of trials held across the province.
This rigorous selection process saw hopefuls to the squad whittled down from 75 to 50 initially, then 30, before the final squad of 18 elite players was announced.
The squad will now train every third Sunday at Belfast Royal Academy for two hours each time; although there is no final tournament for the squad to compete in it is hoped that members of the group may be selected to train and, potentially, play in matches along with the Under 19 squad later in the season.
Well done to Katie and Emma, as well as their coach Mrs Kirk, on their selection to this prestigious squad – we wish them the best of luck in their netballing endeavours over the remainder of the season.
