NISCA Awards Ceremony

The talented catering staff at Grosvenor were celebrating earlier in the month when they achieved first place at the prestigious Northern Ireland School Caterers’ Association (NISCA) Awards Ceremony, held at Belfast’s Titanic building.

The caterers at GGS prevailed in the highly competitive Post Primary School of the Year category, with judges impressed by Grosvenor’s whole-school approach to shaping children’s diets through healthy choices. The school’s vegetable garden, which is managed by the pupils and helps supply the Dining Centre's kitchen, also caught the judges’ eye.

Minister for Education John O’Dowd presented trophies to the winners across five categories at the ceremony.

“The awards ceremony provides an opportunity to recognise the hard work and commitment of all those who work within the service. Schools catering staff serve up meals to 160,000 pupils every day,” said NISCA Chairperson Janet McAlister.

Well done to all of the catering staff at Grosvenor, not only on their well-deserved award but also on the consistently high standard of food which they deliver to the School community throughout the year and which helped them to achieve this notable success.

We look forward to sampling many more delicious meals in the Dining Centre throughout the year!
