Northern Ireland Anti-Bullying Week 2015 – Launch and Awards Ceremony

On Wednesday 18th November six of Grosvenor’s Upper Sixth pupils were invited to attend the prestigious ‘Anti-Bullying Week 2015 Launch Event and Awards Ceremony’ at the RADAR Centre, Belfast.

The event featured speeches form Noel Purdy, Chair of the Northern Ireland Anti-Bullying Forum, as well as Lee Kane, Regional Anti-Bullying Co-ordinator within the NIABF, with prizes awarded to pupils from various schools in a range of categories relating to the best posters, poems and videos made in support of anti-bullying.

Grosvenor’s involvement at the ceremony came following an event in September, when six of its Upper Sixth pupils – Ben Sullivan, Stuart Graham, Ryan Simpson, Olivia Cullen, Abbey Walker and Emily Malcolm, were asked to participate in a photo-shoot to help promote Anti-Bullying Week 2015.

Following an extensive shoot a number of photos were selected for use within this year’s campaign, most notably a picture featuring Deputy Head Boy Ben, which will now appear on the back of over ninety buses across the province.

It was a strange feeling for Ben to see himself featuring so prominently at the event, and he certainly received a few knowing looks from other attendees on the day – something that he will no doubt have to get used to!

All of Grosvenor’s representatives thoroughly enjoyed the event and the School now looks forward to maintaining its link with NIABF over the coming years.
