Politics 'Hustings' event @ Lagan College

On Wednesday 13th April Grosvenor’s Lower Sixth politics class made the short journey to Lagan College where they attended a highly worthwhile Hustings event in advance of the upcoming Assembly elections.

Throughout the event the pupils of Grosvenor and Lagan heard from SDLP, Alliance, DUP, UUP and Green party candidates for South Belfast before being afforded the opportunity to ask questions, which covered such areas as shared education, the E.U. Referendum, peace walls and immigration.

The event sparked some great debate and all fifteen of Grosvenor’s students in attendance thoroughly enjoyed the robust discussions.

Many thanks to Lagan College for hosting the event, as well as to GGS Politics teacher Mrs Julie Lander who organised the school’s participation in the event and accompanied the pupils on the day.
